Craig Bonn

Craig Bonn has worked at the intersection of finance and investment strategy for over three decades, helping clients access opportunities beyond traditional markets. His expertise lies in alternative investments, private equity, and pre-IPO companies. Today, he serves as managing partner of Harley Capital LLC, an independent broker-dealer, and managing member of Edge Partners LLC, a firm designed to structure investments in late-stage private companies through special purpose vehicles (SPVs). Over the years, he has been involved with opportunities across technology, healthcare, energy, and consumer markets, with early exposure to companies such as Facebook, Databricks, and Anthropic.

Craig’s professional journey began in New York, where he grew up before earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Hartford. Soon after, he joined Lehman Brothers, a leading financial institution. He gained valuable experience at Lehman in portfolio management, client advisory, and risk evaluation. The challenging environment of global finance sharpened his skills while revealing to him the limitations of relying solely on traditional investment vehicles. He realized that many clients, particularly high-net-worth individuals and institutions, needed broader access to differentiated strategies, a realization that would influence the course of his career.

With this perspective, Craig established Harley Capital LLC. The firm was founded to provide independent, transparent, client-focused investment services. As Managing Partner, he built Harley Capital into a boutique company serving high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and trusts. Harley Capital’s clients are introduced to carefully curated opportunities, including private equity and pre-IPO investments, often beyond conventional firms' reach. The firm’s approach emphasizes diversification, fiduciary responsibility, and long-term partnerships.

In addition to Harley Capital, Craig launched Edge Partners LLC, a company dedicated explicitly to structuring SPVs. This model allows accredited investors to pool capital and participate in companies on the path to major liquidity events. Edge Partners focuses on areas of rapid technological advancement, such as artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, and next-generation software. The firm is organized under a Delaware Series LLC structure, providing flexibility and efficiency. His role emphasizes applying rigorous due diligence and overseeing investments until a liquidity event, such as an acquisition or public listing, occurs.

Craig’s philosophy is grounded in three priorities: disciplined risk management, thoughtful timing, and a focus on long-term outcomes. Identifying strong companies early is critical, but structuring the investment properly is equally important. His preference for SPVs and alternative frameworks reflects this outlook, as they provide investors access to growth and safeguards against excessive exposure.

Beyond pre-IPO and private equity, Craig has participated in natural gas mineral funds, hospitality REITs, venture partnerships, and specialty financing. His investments include involvement with WhiteHawk Energy, Outstanding Foods, Braemar Hotels and Resorts, Prospect Capital, and Urica Therapeutics. Each decision reflects careful evaluation of industry trends, company performance, and macroeconomic conditions.

Craig also values giving back. He supports organizations such as Pink Aid and Fred’s Team, which focus on cancer research and health-related initiatives. His involvement extends to financial contributions and participation in efforts to raise awareness and funds.

Craig has lived with his wife in Westport, Connecticut, for over 25 years. Outside of his professional life, he is an avid runner who has completed five marathons, including the New York Marathon. He also enjoys traveling and finding inspiration and perspective through exposure to global cultures and economies.
